Let's be clear

You may have concerns regarding EVH based on the July 16, 2009 New England Journal of Medicine article covering the PREVENT IV trial and the paper authored by Dr. Renato D. Lopes et al.

We agree that this study has brought to light some very real drawbacks inherent in a particular EVH system. However, it is important to point out that Sorin Group’s ClearGlide EVH system is a completely different design that does not bear the same risks as the EVH system used in the trial. In fact, the difference is like night and day.

This web page was designed to be a comprehensive resource for you to evaluate the facts for yourself. The links below will provide you with the information you need to make an informed decision about EVH use as it relates to patient safety.

Why do the results of the PREVENT IV trial on EVH not apply to ClearGlide?

How is ClearGlide different from the EVH system used in the PREVENT IV trial?
